Stop Press:-Temporary Closure during 2017.

Unfortunately we are unable to open during the Summer 2017 season as various Health & Safety measures need to be put in place by the owners of the Charity House, the listed building in which the Museum is located.

We very much hope to be able to reopen in Spring of 2018, and look forward to welcoming you then.

In the meantime, we are still open "on-line" through our website and email facilities. We will be very happy to deal with information requests and queries as normal, on both local and family history matters.

Tutbury Museum is situated on Duke Street in Tutbury, we are open from Easter until late September, and our opening hours are as follows:-
Monday to Thursday 1:30pm to 4:00pm
Friday/Saturday 10:30am until 4:00pm

Tutbury Museum is sited in the Old Soup Kitchen, on the ground floor of Charity House. It is centrally located in the village and a free car park and bus stops are nearby.

The Museum is staffed entirely by volunteers who are keen to promote Tutbury and its heritage. Included in the collection are old maps, documents, photographs and artefacts of the area.

If you are researching a local family history, then we have transcribed Parish registers from 1668 to 1965, local Censuses and many more. These may be searched and some information may be available for purchase on CD..
